我有一个很爱我的母亲。今年五十二了，但样子看来像顶多四十。她是全世界最美，最慈祥的女人。I have a MUM who loves me so much. She turns 52 this year; however, she looks like mostly 40. She is the most beautiful and nice lady in the world.
二十五年前，她冒着生命危险，剖腹生了我。妈咪总爱挂在嘴边：你真的太搞怪了！差一点就出不了世。现在偶尔无聊想起时才明白为什么我总是那么调皮，福建话说-坐不静。所以各位请别怀疑，我是被我妈咪用藤鞭鞭打的。
25 years ago, she jeopardized her life, being operated and gave birth to me. MUM always said that I was too naughty and I almost failed to step in this world. Now I know why I am so active-in hokkien we call cannot sit quietly. Therefore, don’t shock that I am telling you now; I was grown up with MUM’s caning.
犹记得小时候，妈咪特别注意我和弟弟的学业。她希望我们努力读书，将来出人头地。因此，我永远不会忘记我三年级那年因为数学考了个八字头，回家就被妈咪鞭到飞起。那时，坦白讲，我还瞒恨她。因为藤鞭鞭下去，身体会有疤痕，去学校时同学会笑。
When my brother and I were young, my MUM put a lot of effort in our studies. She hoped that we studied hard and become a great person in future. I will never forget that MUM canned me because I took a 80-ies in my Mathematic when I was in standard 3. Actually, to be frank, I hate my MUM that time for canning me. It is due to the canning will leave scar on my body. My friends will laugh me when they see it.
现在的我，是多么希望妈咪偶尔可以鞭鞭我，提醒自己不可懒惰，要力求上进，凡事做到最好。
Nowadays, I hope my MUM can cane me sometimes. It is to remind me not to be lazy, I shall work hard, achieve the best result in whatever I do.
妈咪是位教师。虽然工作繁忙，她还是会一手带大我和弟弟。我们姐弟俩是从来没做过校车的。因为妈咪说我俩个子太小，怕给个子较大的同学压扁了。那时，我简直觉得这说法是很荒谬，因为我很好玩，乘校车就能够认识更多朋友！
My MUM was a teacher. Although a tight routine daily, she would always keep me and my bro with her. We never had a chance to board a school bus to school. According to MUM, we are too small to pack into a school bus. She was worried that we were going to be pushed by the big size student. That time, I always thought it was nonsensical because I was playful, I hoped to board a school bus, then I can know more friends and play with them.
现在回想起，我才发现原来妈咪是很爱我们的。她因为爱我们才亲自载送我们到学校。
At this moment, I realize that MUM did so because she loves us too much. Therefore, she tent to drive us to school daily.
唉！坦白讲，妈咪厨艺是在水准之下的。虽然她烧的菜并不可口，由于她很讲究食物营养，所以我们每一餐都是营养餐。妈咪在别人还没发明什么三合一，什么套餐前，就会把所有蔬菜啦，肉类等炒为一盘。我们小时在吃饭时，就只有那么一道菜。我们也很少出外吃，所以我偶尔都会埋怨，说妈咪吝啬。
Haih! Honestly, MUM was below average in cooking. Though she couldn’t cook delicious dishes, however she would make sure we were having nutritious meal daily. When the time there was no 3 in 1 food or beverages, or what dietary food, MUM already knew how to put all ingredients in 1 dish. Last time, we use to have only 1 dish ever meal. We seldom ate outside, therefore I was always complaining, saying MUM was too stingy.
现在想起，才明了妈咪的一篇苦心。在外头吃一来食物很多味精，对健康不好；二来浪费钱，因为妈咪想省钱，要供我们以后念大学。妈咪，你可知道我是多么怀念你烧的菜，希望每天都吃你烧的菜。
Only now I understood MUM reason. The food we eat outside is not as healthy; moreover it’s a kind of waste of money. MUM wanted to save money for me and my brother study expenses in university. MUM, I miss your dishes, I hope to eat what you cook daily!
有时打电话回家，听到妈咪颤抖的声音。我窘然发现妈咪真的老了。想想也觉得惭愧。因为我还不能给她最好的生活。她大半辈子都在为家里，为我们姐弟俩默默付出。妈咪期望最高的女儿，究竟又为她做了什么。自大学毕业后，妈咪总是很担心我。因为我总是爱逆道而行。因为她的女儿就是不干于平凡，老是爱在外乱闯，搞到妈咪忐忑不安。
Sometimes when I called back MUM, when I heard MUM shivering voice, I realized that MUM is getting old. I feel absolutely shame for myself. I still can’t provide her a good life. She had spent most of her time with my brother and me and of course the family. She puts all her hopes on her daughter, but what I had done for her. Since I graduated from university, she always worries about me. It’s due to my some ‘abnormal’ act. I like to take different path from people because I want to change our life, I don’t want just to live a normal life. Therefore, I do a lot of things outside, my MUM is very uneasy with this.
去年妈咪的生日跟母亲节是同一天，我送了她一个近千元的礼物，而且是陪她一起度过。今年母亲节和妈咪的生日是相隔一天，由于经济不景气，我只能送她一张卡片。坦白讲，这两天我的心很难受。因为我没办法回家陪她，更在近几个月内让她操心。
Last year, MUM birthday and Mother’s day was the same day. I gave her a present that worth nearly 1k. I was there for her big day. This year, there is a one-day difference between MUM birthday and Mother’s day. However, due to my personal economic downturn, I just able to give her a card. Honestly, I was disappointed for that particular two days, because I can’t be with MUM in her big day and also I made her so worried about me all this while.
