DD, Una and Me

Just realised that I have this blog post keeping in my draft folder for weeks and shame on me, I forgot to publish it..Oops!

Anyway, I attended TVHC2 and Networking Evening event hosted by Dedipower Managed Hosting on the 13th July 2010.

I feel grateful to be part of this event. I have not been attending any business social events since earlier this year ever as my status has been changed to ‘student’. Ha! It is quite a good exposure for a student though.

One thing I like about the company is people in Dedipower have a very good team work. I guess that is one of the reason why they are one of the leading hosting company in the UK. :) In chinese saying, very 一条心 (not sure how to translate this)

The performance of Una Palliser and Balkan Bears was great! See the clips below:

The Opening:

Seriously, I love her voice. Although not really knowing what she sang...hehe..

Tramllines Sheffield 2010

I was in Tramllines festival this weekend. This is my first time attending a festival in UK. What a cool experience!

Tramllines festival started from Friday until Sunday. It is a free entry festival. At first, we thought it may be shit as it is free, in fact, we found it quite good. Therefore, if you miss Tramllines festival this year, make sure you come next year.

I made it to the Friday and Saturday ones. Decided to get back to Reading earlier and forgo the Sunday festival activities as I just realised I have damn loads of work to catch up.

I like what my friend is saying, you seemed like enjoying quite a lot during your master study. I said, of course! Work hard and play harder. This is always Chek’s way of living life. I will feel bad if I can’t reward myself after some hard work.

Right, back to the festival! Ha!

We went to three bars and saw some gigs on Friday. Saturday was the main day for the festival and the weather was great! Sun spelled almost the whole afternoon although there were a few drops towards the late afternoon.

Four 'Anak Malaysia' in Bristol

Apparently, these four 'Anak Malaysia' (means Malaysian in Malay Language) just got to know each other.

The relationship:

Chek n Mei -> Friend (know her for a few months)
Chek n Yao -> Friend (only know him for 3 days)
Mei n Annie -> Friend (know each other the longest)
(Mei n Annie) n Yao -> Hmmm, just know each other on the day they met..
Chek n Annie -> Friend (heard about her a few weeks ago but only meet in person for a day)

Attractions:

Temple Mead Station

St Mary Redcliffe Church

Bristol Cathedral

City centre and Harbourside

Avon Gorge Viewpoint

Suspension Bridge

ss Great Britain

See the pictures below, I am glad that all of us actually getting along quite well..
Guess it is because we four can speak Mandarin plus at least three dialects: Hokkien, Cantonese and Hakka (I cannot speak Hakka)
If you are with us, probably you will see how 'Dai Lou' (Big brother) Yao switches dialect like the Customer Services IVR.
It is fun though!

Gam Ngam (Coincidentally) these two are born in the year of Monkey, just different cycle..

Of course not forgetting my signature jump :)

Lunch time at YumYum Thai.

I am having green curry chicken. The price is very 'dai dou lan' (very worthwhile)
Green Curry Chicken+ rice = £ 5.95
Bowl is small but full with dice chicken breast....
So if you like thai food, perhaps you shall consider eating here..

Very 'Malaysian' jokes of the day:
Apparently Dai Kah Cheh Annie is matching the places to what we have in Malaysia. Ha!

Avon Gorge View -> Batu Kapur in Ipoh

Bristol Harbour -> Perlabuhan Klang

Me & Mei. This is my favorite picture! Thanks 'Dai Lou' (big brother) Yao for photographing!
