07072011 My graduation day!!!

Finally it is the day! My graduation day! Since last December (after my MSc project presentation), I have been anticipating for this moment…I guess my parents are too.

I haven’t slept well since the Monday… I wasn’t sure whether I was too excited or too nervous..
On that day, I was pretty nervous about the weather. BBC weather forecast was saying there would be a heavy rain at Reading. It was raining when I departed from London. I wished that god will give me a sunny day so I can capture nicer pictures…

When we arrived at Reading station, I looked up to the sky and pretty upset… then my lovely dad came to me and say ‘No worries, daughter. I have prayed to god. He will give you a good weather.’ I looked at him, wasn’t sure this could be right. But I thanked him for praying for me..
Guess what! It worked! The sun came out once we arrived at the Great Hall. And we managed to take some very good pictures :)

Then I have to hand my parents to Bee as I need to get ready as I was summoned to the procession room. I was excited when got to know that we, the masters will go on stage first…usually it will be the PhDs to go on stage first, follow by the Masters, then the undergraduate..In fact, I was the fifth to go on stage.. :)

When I walked into the hall, I didn’t feel nervous but I was excited.. When I heard my name, then I was carefully walked to stage…coz I was in my 4ich heels and my dress was restricting my walk, I need to walk very slow and in small step..So it took slightly longer than others to go on stage…haha.. I paused a bit when shaking the vice chancellor hand anyway…coz I forgot to say thank you, turned right and left the stage…lol..

The ceremony took about 35 minutes..then we just continue taking pictures outside the hall..

Then, we had something to eat, and heading back to the faculty for the reception drink…

The highlight was I got the best project award! Haha! It was quite embarrassing as I was a bit carried away with my speech…I don’t know that I need to give speech..but I can tell my parents were happy…mom was tearing as expected…

So that’s it…one year hard work and done with the graduation ceremony! I feel that I am the happiest girl in the world.. having my friend and family with me..

A bit of change..

I was booked into Ramada hotel three weeks ago for a week. Not sure why is that. Well, it is always good to have a bit of change. I usually stay in Holiday Inn Express, Burton on Trent during the week, and it is only 5 minutes walk to work. As for this new place, it is about 10-15 minutes drive to work. I don’t really mind where to stay, as long as I have someone to drive me to work, then I am fine. By it means my boss was staying for a whole week that week, so she can drive me. Haha!

I think this hotel is transformed from a gigantic mansion by looking at the building architecture.

I was kinda excited when entering my room! Look at the superb triple size bed and also the complementary!

Of course I wouldn’t miss a chance exploring the countryside..and got to know it is an award winning village…lol. Still, I made a small run across the country side… contented, felt healthy especially the fresh air.

After the run, then it is dinner time… look at the dining room!

My little starter – lemon sorbet I guess, not quite sure

Main – some kind of chicken with white wine sauce and fresh vege! Yummy!

Dessert – My favourite – lemon cheesecake

My another main – not sure which evening I had this…haha…but the seabass was absolutely fantastic!!!

Overall, I had enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Staffs are friendly. Most importantly, there is free wi-fi in the lounge where I spent my evenings with my laptop and drinks on my own :) Luckily I didn’t breach my meal allowance…hehe…

Oracle Reading Mango Outlet 50% sales

Girls at Reading, if you are a Mango person, do have a quick look at the Mango outlet in Oracle Reading….everything is on 50% sales..not sure till when the sales...but do grab the opportunity..hehe..

No doubt, ‘sales’ is attractive, but also giving me another reason to spend.. Was having quite a long week, working on Sunday, the long hours during the week, travel back to Reading for a bit, then travel back to Burton again… therefore, I need to reward myself with something..

Following are the dresses I was tempted to buy…however after considering whether how often I will wear these dresses, I returned them to the sales assistant…or else, I don’t think I will look on my bank account anymore…

Still, I bought two pieces from the outlet… haha!

Also, get a pair of flat shoes…I had bought a pair from O_ _F_ _E, just three weeks ago, but the shoes was hurting my ankle so much, and also the front bit was spoiled…hello! Just three weeks. Sigh…

Work hard, play hard, spend harder….. :)
